Overview of Services
Providing safety training for the employees of both full and associate members comes with one goal–having all employees finish their work day exactly like they started it–safely. The loss control staff advises management of regulatory impacts such as OSHA. GCSECA staff make on-site visits to provide classroom and hands-on training and to monitor safe work habits.
Planning and coordinating the travel, lodging and meals for 40-plus participants of the Washington Youth Tour begins well before the tour begins in June. Providing the leadership for the Arizona and California contingent means our future leaders have a good time and meaningful experience.
GCSECA provides the full and associate members a variety of services
A variety of education programs are offered each year. Target audiences include directors and employees. Traditional programs offered include NRECA board training programs, a lineman’s school, web-based learning opportunities and hot-topic areas. The programs are offered free to the full members, while associate members have the opportunity to purchase participation for their directors and employees. The GCSECA Education and Professional Development Committee has the responsibility of identifying needs and selecting upcoming programs.
A monthly e-newsletter, a bi-monthly magazine, daily news briefings, three web sites and a presence on social media are used to keep the membership informed about GCSECA, the members and electric industry.
Sharing the impact of proposed legislation on the cooperatives and their members is a vital function performed by the GCSECA staff. Whether it is happening in the halls of Congress or at the state capital, GCSECA advocates for the needs of our members..
